It’s been a long sojourn for this case. It began as a felony unlawful sexual contact. We picked a jury. The complainant then made new disclosures. We were able to prevent the disclosures from being used at the trial. As a result, the prosecution dismissed the case and recharged it. Prior to recharging the case, we negotiated a misdemeanor assault with a $300 fine. So, we went from a class B felony, to a class D misdemeanor, without the sex offender registration and with no jail time. A terrific way to cap off one of the last working days of the year.
